Hatter & Company began as a mere idea in late 2008; a dream to make something great and not stop until we did just that. We could tell you that Hatter & Company is more than a brand, it’s a statement…a lifestyle…a culture…but we’re not going to tell you any of that. To be honest, our goal is create some awesome clothing with a unique style that can be worn by everyone at anytime.
Let us introduce ourselves as Tom and Kyle. We grew up together in a suburb of Philadelphia. When it was time for college, we headed to different schools in different states. During our college years, we stayed in contact and saw each other on occasion. Upon graduating, we returned to Philadelphia and landed jobs at the same financial company. In turn, we decided to become roommates and move into an apartment together. After long and stressful days at work, we would come home and brainstorm about ideas that would allow us to express ourselves and creativity while, at the same time, relieve us of the stress from our jobs. It was here where the idea of Hatter & Company was born. After the first mention of the idea, we knew that we had the technical abilities and ideas to create Hatter & Company, but did not have all of the skill sets to bring it to life.
Cue our artist, Brian (aka Billman). We immediately put a wanted ad in our local paper for a local artist and had an overwhelming response. However, only Brian blew us away with his ideas, art, and style. We knew almost immediately that he was the person that could put our collaborative ideas into wearable designs.
Over the last year, the three of us have been working hard to bring this company to where it is today. Every day is a little different and each day brings its own challenges, but Hatter & Company continues to grow and we are excited to see where this goes…
About the Artist
I was born outside of Philly in a small town, in the sweet year of 1986. Art is my life. My inspiration always came from my friends. I’ve been drawing alongside the very talented artist, Matt Ulrich as long as I can remember. We conveniently fed off each other’s creativity, making every piece of artwork that much more insane than the last. Art is endless. I will never stop doing what I love; whether it be underneath the freeway with my friends and a few cans of spraypaint, at a coffee shop with my tablet, or working on the goods for Hatter & Company.
